>Could artificial intelligence learn from our everyday connection to the world wide web?

It already does, try using your Amex or other credit card in a uncharacteristic purchase (e.g. at two gas stations in the same town in 1 hr).

Alice chat bots are pitted against live users to create something close to the Turing test (e.g. if you were texting to somebodyhow would you know if they were human or not, what questions would you ask).

I used to work on AI (teaching computers to think), with blogs, credit cards, phone logs, there is a increasing digital 'Shadow" to our identities. E.g. I have a journal online that has at least 5 years of data in it, as a human I could reread someone elses journal (e.g. shakespeare) and start to imitate it. Some people fear this, but for me I'd actually pay someone to create an army of digital copy of me to deal with the shyt I don't want to in the way I would normally. Some people call this Smart Agents, others call it personality capture.

I also used to do Virtual Reality research. 5-15 years ago, you had to have the MIT Media lab to do anything 3d or anything multitouch. Now you can go into any decent theater and see amazing 3d, and as of this last year TV's for Will we become smarter and evolve because of the internet?

Facebook is rewiring people's brains. Current generation of kids will not know of a world without ubiquitous internet access or knowing where their freinds are 24/7

but at the same time we've lost a ton. E.g. america has lost a shitload of manufactering capability, and the skills associated with them (e.g. die manufacter for auto bodies). I honestly fear if a earthquake hit LA that millions have no clue on how to survive without starbucks and eating out.

>You know how they say we only use a percentage of our brain?

That's a popular myth. It's true for any given second, but really could you experience every memory and idea you've ever had at once? If I hook you up to a MRI and give you tasks we can watch all the parts of your brain light up like a christmas tree.

> like the 9 to 5 job u work to make the next person rich.

not even rich, there are many poor to struggling business owners too. It's a culture.

> We find ourselves everyday focusing on the things that don’t matter or make much difference in our lives. Radio, News, TV, iPod’s, Xbox ? -

To make matters we are actively addicted to these sources.

LOL as Gary Vaynerchuck said "Stop watching fucking lost"

>using our creative minds to do what we want in this world.

some people don't want all that much that's really creative, and some people really aren't creative in the right ways.

>I feel that more of our brain capabilities will be used once we have to start thinking less.

I know people who have gotten so dependent on GPS they really can't navigate anyplace in their town from memory..even the grocery store!!!. These spatial skills have use in many other places as well. But you are right they do fill their life with other stuff, I can't tell if this is positive or negative, but yet another dependency on technology.

Bad ass post Jay Styles. It's amazing to analyze how the world has so drastically changed. The idea of a park and how 15 years ago it would be filled with woman and their children is extremely interesting. I believe its attributed to woman becoming more dominant and independent.

Anyways, I think if all people were honest with themselves they would agree that Time, Money & Freedom balanced and utilized together is one heck of a potion. It's just keeping our intentions extremely clear in the dot.com community and remembering why we started these ventures in the first place!

Thanks for the enlightenment dude.

Cheers
