Finally getting back to some writing..
Let me ask you something… have you seen china lately?
My girlfriend and I just got back from China a trip, which we usually take 2X per year
to visit our manufactures, work out deals and find the newest and hottest
selling products for our group of clients and our own businesses.
This trip was a bit different though..
For this trip we decided to have an adventure before
we went off to the city of YIWU & NINGBO which
is where we usually go to meet our factories and suppliers.
And when I mean ADVENTURE I mean it. (leave it to two ex military members lol).. We took subways with 0 english signs and not only that but decided to sleep on a overnight train to beijing which was shared with a WOMEN. A WOMEN who ironically and coicidently we end up seeing 2 days later in BEIJING. *Mind you. A city of millions of people one lady bumps into me and it’s the same lady we shared a sleep train with. She said it was good luck and showed us around that day.
Not only was this trip a bit special and majestic but it was also eye opening.
I’ll tell you why it was eye opening here in a second…
First off, The Shanghai Skyline is beautiful. not so much the brown water.
Like seriously the water is BROWN!!!! Eye open #1
Here’s us visiting the GreatWall.
The GREATWALL was like Oh SNAP*.. JESUS was around when this WALL was built.
And then we got to a place called the forbidden city.
Here’s where 40 emperors lived during the ming dynasty.
So heres why this trip was EYE opening.
After we arrived in YIWU and I just couldn’t believe
what was happening to this place and the people in it..
Brought me back to a book I read a few years ago called : “The World is Flat” by Thomas Friedman.
GLOBALIZATION is here and rapidly growing.
We now have to compete for jobs with automation and people around the globe.
If you ever come to SAN DIEGO for an event.
You’d have probably seen more and more homeless people on the streets.
Come to think about it.. I don’t think I’ve seen 1 homeless person in CHINA. In fact I didn’t. No joke.
Just a few years ago when I visited china..
CHINA had tons of old buildings setup with what I would
call are sweat shops under every building..
Young kids covered in black dust working
by polishing jewelry.
Not 1 bit of unused space.
Now visit china and the city is being torn down
Here’s a video I shot from my hotel on what’s to come in the Yiwu a city growing rapidly
Last year what existed was homes with factories on the bottom of each.
Now mega malls are being built in it’s place…
Half the city is torn down as the government
is building a new city. According to locals. The govt is working
on raising the GDP.
CHINA is taking advantage of Globalization…
People in countries CHINA, PAKISTAN, INDIA, BANGLDASH
Now have the same opportunities as many AMERICANS
because we are now a global economy. It’s crazy to think
I was outsourcing work in bangladesh a few years ago for literally pennies. Not people in this country are making 6 figures thanks to E-commerce…
I’ve seen Pakistan Groups sharing how to dropship products.
We dropship products in over 5 countries.
Not only is this proof..
According to my girlfriends CHINESE supplier he makes $60,000 per month
selling on AMAZON. My translator makes another $6,000 PER MONTH
selling on ETSY. They’ve learned how to use VPS’s and create Amazon accounts.
Can this really continue?
As more junk products are being sold more pollution is also being created. Remember the brown water?
So much pollution is captured in the air that when it
rains it brings all the dirt down thus why we had brown
water in the picture. It had just finished raining.
On our visit we also noticed many factories had shut down because of the rise of pollution.
Which is why I recommend using dropshipping to be the catalyst to break free from the 9to5 grind.
And Focus on creating a brand you can be proud of.
Like what we did with FragrantJewels.com
Which is why we have also shifted our focus on making
quality American Products.
“The ideal country in a flat world is the one with no natural resources, because countries with no natural resources tend to dig inside themselves. They try to tap the energy, entrepreneurship, creativity, and intelligence of their own people-men and women-rather than drill an oil well.”
― Thomas L. Friedman,
Competition is fierce and it’s my belief that in the Future the economy will be
The Peoples Economy. What do I mean by that?
More on that in my next post..
This post is getting stupid long.
