So what is F-Commerce exactly?
F-Commerce is utilizing Facebook to facilitate sales to your e-commerce website.
Essentially, it’s about combining the power of social networks with the profit potential of e-commerce.
Doing this improves conversion rates since you can build a tribe of followers around your product or brand. The built in social influence of F-Commerce allows you to convert more users and spread the word quickly.
Let’s turn the clock back a moment. Before widespread use of the internet, people couldn’t really know if a product was the real deal till they bought it and tested it out. We’d see the infomercial and have to just take the brand’s word for it.
Fastforward to 2016. Information travels fast now, and social media lets consumers ask friends for reviews of all kinds of products and services. It’s no longer what a brand says about itself but what others are saying.
According to a recent poll, Facebook is the 2nd most common place for consumer reviews, just behind Google. That means a lot of reviews, and a lot of people reading them.
The power of having a thriving Facebook page is stronger than ever. Better to buy from Sally’s TV Shack who has 100k fans and customers posting nothing but great things every day than some random place with barely any social media presence, right?
It’s all about how the customer perceives your brand, and social media can make sure that when they get to the billing page, they’re thinking about how much their family and friends love your products.
Now, if you’re going to understand F-Commerce, then you need to understand M-Commerce (M for mobile), because Facebook has over 1.4 Billion mobile users.
That means the REAL opportunity is at the intersection of Social, Mobile and e-commerce.
Because that’s where social influence can combine with accessibility and translate into cold hard cash.
